Welcome to the Islamic Online University (IOU)! 

These Website Terms and Conditions (“Terms of Use”) apply to your access to, and use of, the university’s website as well as any other university-controlled sites, regardless of domain name or IP address (collectively “Site” or “Sites”) and the features and applications accessible through the sites (collectively the “Services”).

ADMISSIONS

The decision of IOU to accept your application is made on the basis of the information that you have provided on the application form. If the IOU shall find that you have made a false statement, or have left out significant information, IOU reserves the right either to disqualify your application or to suspend you from studies and reserve the right to take on further steps deemed appropriate.

PAYMENTS

Any fee payments made to the IOU, be it semester fees or CT charges or ANY Application Processing Fees is non refundable due to the modest fees we charge. Therefore, you are requested to understand the policies and requirements clearly before proceeding with the payment.

ACCREDITATION

The Government of Somalia’s Ministry of Culture and Higher Education has granted a university license to the Islamic Online University, adding it to its list of accredited universities in Somalia which are recognized by the UN and therefore recognized by accredited universities globally.
Furthermore, the government of Indonesia has issued a Certificate of Equivalency to the IOU in regards to its’ MAIS program. It has been issued by the Director General of Learning and University Student Affairs Ministry of Research, Technology and High Education of the Republic of Indonesia. ELECTRONIC COMMUNICATIONS

Since we are an online university, we offer all our services through the internet. The emails which you send us are the means of electronic communication. We communicate with you via emails or by posting notices to our website. You should agree that all agreements, notices, disclosures and other communications we provide to you electronically (via emails, site news, etc) satisfy all requirements and should be considered equivalent to such communications in writing.

COPYRIGHT

All content included on the website such as text, logos, images, graphics, button icons, digital downloads, data compilations, software, etc. is the property of the IOU or its content providers and is protected by copyright laws. The course material provided is confidential and copyrighted. You may keep a copy on your PC and print out a copy for your personal academic use but you are not allowed to distribute it to others.

TRADEMARK

IOU’s Trademarks and Trade dress may not be used in connection with any other website or institution in any manner that is likely to cause confusion among people or in any manner that disparages or discredits IOU.

LICENSE AND WEBSITE ACCESS

IOU grants you a limited license to access and make personal use of the website. You are not allowed to download (other than the course contents to which you are given access) or modify it, or any portion of it except with the consent of the IOU Admin. This license does not include any resale or commercial use of the contents for the benefit of an individual or a similar institution/organization.

RISK OF LOSS

Please note that the password to your IOU account is an amaanah (Trust). You are expected to guard your password and not to share it even with your family members. No test reset requests will be processed if anybody happens to misuse your account. And you will be responsible for any misuse or miscommunication through your account.

STUDENT RECORDS

The IOU is not required to retain records other than the transcripts of the students and credits obtained or return anything submitted for the application.

TERMINATION

Notwithstanding any of these Terms of Use, the University reserves the right, without notice and in its sole discretion, to terminate your license to use the Sites, the Services or any portion thereof, and to block or prevent in future your access to and use of the Sites or any of the Services.

MODIFICATIONS TO TERMS OF USE

The University reserves the right to change or modify any of the terms and conditions contained in the Terms of Use, at any time and in its sole discretion. If the University changes or modifies these Terms of Use, the University will post the changes to these Terms of Use on the Sites and will indicate at the top of this page the date these Terms of Use were last revised. Any changes or modifications will be effective immediately upon posting of the revisions to the Sites, and you waive any right you may have to receive specific notice of such changes or modifications. Your continued use of any of the Sites or the Services following the posting of changes or modifications will constitute and confirm your agreement to and acceptance of such changes or modifications. It is your responsibility to regularly check this Site to determine if there have been changes to these Terms of Use and to review such changes. If you do not agree to the amended terms, you must stop using the Sites and the Services.

DISPUTES

Any disputes arising during your study at IOU are subject to final decision of the IOU Admin.
