Information Technology

This course is comprised of the study of computing. It introduces the concepts that underline the computer world ranging from hardware to software. Then it discusses the fundamental building blocks of the computing system such as algorithm, Boolean logic, compilers, translators, etc. Recent developments in the computing world are also discussed such the internet, e-commerce and data warehouse.

This course is structured to build the young Muslim Professional: It is a stratified system clearly highlighting the meanings of Professionalism, Management and Leadership; demystifying the misnomers and taking a profound look at all three to bring a full and clear concept in the minds of the students regarding how to implement them and yet still not disregard the Islamic teachings.

This course aims to provide insight into basic statistical concepts with emphasis on practical applications. Mathematical formulae will be kept to a minimum. The theory and the methods of analysis will be extensively illustrated with examples relating to a wide variety of different fields. We start with concise graphical and numerical descriptions of data obtained from observational or experimental studies. The most common and frequently used probability distributions of discrete and continuous variables will be presented. Statistical inference and draws conclusions about a population based on sampled data will be discuss in details.

This course is comprised of a study of both the basic and advanced concepts of the computer communication and networking, which is a particular way of making different devices share information in a systematic way so that it can be efficiently used in large organizations. It covers different kinds of communication architectures and various modes of transferring of data like wired or wireless, which are meant for different kinds of applications, and some are highly specialized to specific tasks.

This is an introductory course designed to familiarize students with the basic topics in management. The subject areas that will be covered include: organisational culture, defining external environment, managing global environment, social responsibility and managerial ethics, decision-making, foundations of planning, strategic management, planning tools and techniques, organisational structure and design, communication and IT, human resource management, managing change and innovation, foundations of behaviour, groups & teams, motivating employees, leadership, foundations of control, operations and value chain management, small business, new venture creation and entrepreneurship, communication issues in today’s organisations and managing for quality.

Course Description

 

This course is comprised of a study of the fundamental issues in the Science of Tawheed/ ‘Aqeedah most relevant today. It gives an overview of the categories of Tawheed and Shirk.

 

I. Objectives 

  • To enable the student to understand the origins of the Science of Tawheed.
  • To further develop the student’s grasp of the basic three categories of Tawheed and their antithesis Shirk.
  • To develop the student’s basic knowledge regarding some of the controversial issues related to Tawheed.
  • To enable students to critically analyze the customs and culture which affects the implementation of Tawheed in Muslim countries today.
  • To teach students correct approach to understanding the Islaamic Creed.
