Arabic Exemption Exam Policy Applies to:
- B.Sc. in Psychology (BSc.PSY) students (possible exemption from 2 Arabic courses)
Eligibility criteria to sit in the Arabic Exemption Exam
- Native or near-native speaker of Arabic language and
- Studies done till High School in Arabic Medium
Arabic Exemption Exam Policy:
A native or near-native speaker of Arabic language who has completed his high school education in Arabic may be eligible for a Exemption Exam waiver from IOU Arabic courses and will select courses from IOU waiver replacement courses instead. In order to determine exemption student must take an Arabic Exemption Exam and based on the achieved results, he may be exempted totally or with certain conditions. Exam:
The exam is divided into two parts as follows:
- Written exam to be taken at the IOU approved exam centers.
- Online oral exam.
Fees:
The Arabic Exemption Exam is subject to a $20 flat fee. It is non-refundable and non-transferable under any circumstance. Only one attempt is allowed for the exam. If the student misses the exam for the applied semester without a valid reason, he or she will have to pay the fees again the following semester.

Grade | Exemption |
---|---|
90-100% | Student is eligible for the waiver and can choose from among the electives. |
80-89% | In order to receive exemption from IOU Arabic courses student has to take the Arabic course (Arabic 102). |
